(via AICN) MTV Multiplayer reports in an interview with prosaic director Brett Ratner that he’d love to do a Guitar Hero movie, if Activision would ever let him. Guitar Hero, for those who don’t know, is a game where a song plays and icons light up on the screen. The challenge is to hit the same color keys on your controller so the song doesn’t sound…
Yes, another “GallowWalker” post (oh, hey, I’ve only written six. Seems like a lot more). I do owe the end of the “Making of GallowWalker” story, and I’ve been debating that for a long time, as it would ruffle a lot of feathers, some that don’t deserve to be ruffled and some that should have been ruffled a long time ago. But from all the bad…
For this weekend only, August 29, 2008 - September 1, 2008, Zazzle, who manufactures and ships the T-shirts offered in the ZombieSpirit store is offering free (on standard or basic) shipping for products ordered during this timeframe. So, if you’ve been mulling over something you liked here, and have been putting it off because of the cost of shipping, now’s your time to act…
In my last post on the subject, I was reasonably pleased with Celtx as an alternative to Final Draft, mainly because it worked beautifully as a native OS X application (especially the font handling) whereas Final Draft seems like it’s just been abandoned on the Mac platform.
Maybe it’s because screenwriters don’t use Macs. That can’t be true, can it?
Anyway, the one major downfall I…
The trailer for the new Ron Howard film, “Frost/Nixon” is now online (Yahoo! trailers link - HD available). I’ve been looking forward to this. Nixon/Watergate is a topic, which, for some undefinable reason, has always fascinated me, and Opie does good historical movies (”Apollo 13″).
HOWEVER, boy, has the studio (Universal in this case) ruined things for me. WHY does EVERY trailer need to be…
(via TUAW) Beau Weaver, voice-over artist (who you will immediately recognize when you hear) and “diehard” TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) reader has put together a hilarious ringtone that he’s offering for free on his website that’s sort of a variation on the whole “in a world …” movie trailer thing.
The sound quality’s outstanding and it’s got an actually loud ring mixed in there somewhere, so it’s…
Movie and filmmaking-related t-shirts and stuff are available in the ZombieSpirit store …
As you may recall (if you don’t, never fear) I attempted to write a feature film screenplay in one week (for no other reason than to show how foolhardy I am I guess), and, was reasonably successful, although, the exercise may or may not have contributed to a nearly complete physical and metal collapse I had that lasted several weeks (poor diet and nearly round the clock work every…
Today is Alfred Hitchcock’s birthday (according to IMDB anyway), so it’s worth mentioning a little-known trick that the world’s greatest director perpetrated on those nagging censors in 1960 with my favorite film, “Psycho”.
Hitchcock pushed a lot of boundaries with this little low budget film (Hitchcock was known for big blockbusters such as “North by Northwest” and “The Man Who Knew Too Much” at the time). “Psycho”, for instance…
(via Boing-Boing) There seems to be something in the air. I mean, how long has it been since the last big absurd claim that fooled some of the top web news sites? At any rate, a lot of sites are reporting that the body of a “bigfoot” has been found by these guys in Georgia (the Georgia Bigfoot Trackers!) who are planning a press…
