Gilliam’s Project Cancelled After Ledger’s Death

Tragedy compounded by tragedy, Twitch is reporting that Terry Gilliam’s current film, “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” has been shut down in the wake of Heath Ledger’s death …

The production had reportedly just wrapped U.K. shooting and was planning a move to Vancouver for FX work. The entire crew there has been told to stand down with no further information as to when or if things will start up again. I was frankly expecting this, after being stunned by the news about Ledger yesterday. I just finally got around to seeing “Tideland” this past weekend, and was blown away by it so I’m justifiably saddened by both these bits of news.
